all up in the kitchen

i made a variation of this smitten kitchen recipe: quiche lorraine. you were supposed to use ham, onions and leeks. but who has 1/2 lb of ham laying around? or leeks?? i dont even know what a leek is, except for the picture on the website. so, instead i used onions, BACON, spinach. and whole wheat flour for the crust. we can call it quiche florentine :)

we liked it!

on another note, the exterminator came to our house. no big deal, just empty your pantry/cabinets! so here you see all of those contents on the kitchen table. you may notice a plethora of paper towels (twenty rolls, to be exact. even after giving some away). this is thanks to my dad, who works at kimberly-clark, makers of scott towels. so he generously bought us a gigantic box of paper towels.

we also have enough dish washer soap to last about three years. since we (maybe just "i") forgot we had plenty and bought more--at costco... :)

so right now our kitchen is in quite the disarray. which is the opposite of how i like it. but the anti-bug juice has to dry a little longer, i think.
