counting down!

Today we drove to Thomasville to have our final meeting with the owner of 12 West Main, the place where we're having the reception. (Our first reception as marrieds :) This table here, that table there, and so on and so forth.
We also stopped by to surprise visit my parents, which was a treat, especially because my Dad had just been awakened from sleeping the day away after working all night. I inherited my night shift from him. He, however, is hilarious when he wakes up. I am just grumpy and have insanely crazy hair.
Then we came back home for our last meeting with our pre-marriage counselor David Brown. We really learned a lot from him, or rather from the Lord through him. Sometimes we left counseling a little annoyed with each other, sometimes not, but always knowing each others hearts better and getting some good wisdom about marriage. Today we talked about our goals for ourselves as individuals & as a couple & family. That was fun. And Tanner decided that when we meet a goal we can reward ourselves with an icecream cone. So that's something to look forward to. Who knew? Except that one of my goals is to stay in shape. So that reward will have to be followed by a little jogging. or yogging.
Last, we picked up the ring. Tanner Bacon's newest piece of bling. Fits like a glove. A very loose glove, but a glove nonetheless. :-)
Anyway, the point is that today we completed some pre wedding things that it seems like we just started a few days ago. It's sixteen days away and I am counting down the hours but also really enjoying all of the preparation. Short of a 48 hour period of "I might gouge my eyeballs out" it has really been a treat and a joy. That is largely, if not fully, due to the fact that Tanner is the most helpful groom in all of the land. He should get a reward for that, for sure. How about an icecream cone! Or better yet a whole carton of ice cream and a box of cones.
