The Votes Are In

Thank you all for your participation in the apple survey. I am really impressed! I think it's clear, as I'm sure we all suspected, that the hybrid apple was the big winner with 14 votes. Shawn's vote counted as a hybrid vote because he is a) not in middle school anymore b) does indeed live with his wife and c) is not currently eating a pie or ohop. Also I added in my own vote which is DEFINITELY for the hybrid. I mean, come ON! I don't even give other apples the time of day. Which brings me to the point of the survey...

Dear Panera,
I really like you. Thank you for having a great menu with healthy options that are filling and delicious. Thank you, sweet Panera, for having good whole grain bread and amazing soup. Thank you for the "You Pick Two" combo, a personal favorite of mine. But, dearest Panera, would you like to explain why you're serving us red apples instead of hybrids? Why when given a choice of baguette, chips or apple must I get a red apple instead of the deliciousness of an apple that doesn't know if it's red or green or yellow, so it just stays in hybrid-territory. Give the people what they want. We want fujis and galas! We want to order fruit as our side and not have to bite into a mushy grainy red apple. Well, all of us except Sarah May (way to be different, smay ;)).
Don't worry, Panera, this isn't a deal breaker. I still like you a lot. I just want you to think about changing this part of your menu options. The people have spoken.
Sincerely,
We the people.

For the record, the final count:
Hybrid: 14
Green: 2
Yellow: 1
Red: 1

Staci,
i love that you love to write letters when things are not as they should be. You might consider writing one to my insurance company that refuses to pay for my prescription because they are cheapos. What, pray tell, is an insurance company for if not for medicine?
Sincerely,
kalle

i love this post, and i do feel that i contributed to this whole thought process because you met me for lunch at panera in charleston & you got soup, a sandwich on wheat bread, and an apple as your meal. so in a way, i feel like i inspired you! love you & miss you!
